What is the RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) process?
2026-04-28 09:59:03Think of it as injecting resin into a closed mold to create strong, lightweight composite parts — like carbon fiber or fiberglass components.

Here’s how it works in three simple steps:
Place the reinforcement
Dry fibers (carbon, glass, etc.) are cut and carefully laid into a closed, two‑part mold. This forms the “skeleton” of the final part.Inject the resin
Liquid resin is pumped under low pressure into the mold, saturating the fibers and filling every cavity. The RTM injection machine ensures precise flow and wet‑out.Cure and demold
Heat is applied to harden the resin inside the mold. Once cured, the mold is opened — revealing a ready‑to‑use composite part with smooth surfaces and tight dimensional accuracy.
Because RTM produces high‑quality, complex shapes in a repeatable way, it’s widely used in automotive, aerospace, marine, wind turbine blades, and many other industries.
